Paint Louis started in 1997, back when graffiti was still something your parents told you to stay away from. Now, it’s a world-renowned event, where hip-hop’s four elements—DJing, MCing, breaking, and grafitti—come together in one massive art party. Like the Super Bowl of spray cans.

Last year’s festival brought in over 400 writers from places like Germany, Australia, Mexico, and every corner of the U.S., ready to transform the wall into mini masterpieces.

A crowd of 30,000 showed up to soak in the vibe. They filled up the hotels, devoured the local eats, and brought some color to the city, both at the Mural Mile and in the economy.

The Paint Louis wall sticks around all year, until the following Labor Day weekend when we do it all over again.
